A straight pint engraved on the front with a portrait of George II* in an oval wrigglework frame. It is also engraved with a single line inscription round the body “M. Herriot. Old George. Oxford St. Above Oxford St engraved in massive wrigglework digits is the number 29.(The polished surface makes it difficult to photograph)
Possible traces of a touchmark in base.
*Most likely George II. His coins face this direction
This tavern is mentioned in London Signs by Bryant Lillywhite circa 1809-11
The handle connections seem to have had some earlier restoration
